Digital Transformation and People

The most critical challenge in Digital Transformation is planning for the impact on people.

The Infosys Digital Radar 2020 Report highlights that "Lack of change management capabilities" and "Lack of talent or skills required" continue to be important barriers in 2020. It's good to see that "Lack of a corporate vision for digital" is declining as is "insufficient budget".

In transforming business, cross-functional teams and role changes need to be expected. Designing a digital transformation solution requires changing mindsets. This cannot be left to one department. If key stakeholders do not dedicate time for this, any solution will be set up for failure.

Companies identified as "visionaries" show progress on 22 Digital initiatives. All 22 initiatives may not be critical for every industry, but Visionaries have truly embraced initiatives across the board. Almost half of them describe "empowering employees" as a major business objective in transformation.

Planning for meaningful cultural change in a company is the secret sauce that can make or break a transformation!
